WHY: During ACM weekend, Republic Nashville hosted a celebration for The Band Perry, whose self-titled debut album was certified Gold by the RIAA in February 2011 after just four months in the marketplace. The album features their fastest-climbing, current single, “You Lie,” along with the Grammy-nominated, Platinum-certified #1 hit, “If I Die Young” and their first Top 20 single, “Hip To My Heart.”
The band is currently nominated for four ACM Awards, including New Artist of the Year, which is also determined by fans (voting ends at the start of tomorrow’s broadcast of the ACM Awards live on CBS). TBP has already won an early ACM Award for New Group of the Year, as determined by fan votes.
