Today, let’s contemplate the profound message of Christmas!

As John 1:14 beautifully captures: “So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.”

The Christmas story, often familiar, should not become indifferent to us. It’s a story that starts not in Bethlehem, but in eternity, in Heaven.

Before Earth, before Adam and Eve’s time in the Garden of Eden, and their consequential fall into sin, a critical decision was made in Heaven: God would incarnate as a man to save humanity.

This divine intention is depicted in John 1:14 and Revelation 13:8, where Jesus is portrayed as the predestined Lamb.

Galatians 4:4-5 details the perfect timing of Jesus’ arrival, signifying a monumental event in which God Himself visited Earth as Immanuel.

Bethlehem, as prophesied in Micah 5:2, was the chosen place for this miraculous birth. The lineage of Joseph and Mary, along with divinely orchestrated events like Caesar Augustus’s census, culminated in Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. This period was globally significant.

The Roman Empire’s unification created an environment ripe for Jesus’ arrival, where people delved into literature, philosophy, art, and religion, seeking deeper meanings.

It was the ideal moment for God to introduce His Son to the world. Jesus came to offer us not just life, but a rich and fulfilling one, as He states in John 10:10.

While medicine may prolong our years, it is Christ alone who adds depth and quality to our existence.

On this blessed Christmas Eve Sunday, let us embrace the true spirit and profound depth of Christmas.

Warmly, SheriAnn
